We set out to inspire athletes to reach the highest levels of the sport, and we provide world-class training to a region that has not traditionally had access to it. Talent here does not have to leave to be developed.

The club was founded in 2017 in Blacksburg, Virginia to educate and promote amateur wrestling within the 250-mile radius it serves.
We are a tax-exempt charitable athletic organization under IRS code section 501(c)(3), and the official regional training center of Virginia Tech wrestling. We promote the sport by serving three distinct groups.
Who We Serve
Three levels, one room
Collegiate
We serve college athletes at Virginia Tech, granting them the ability to compete and train all over the world. They also benefit from close working relationships with our senior-level athletes, training partners who have already been where they are trying to go.
Senior Level
Freestyle, not collegiate style, is what is contested at the Olympics and World Championships. We provide the coaching, training partners, funding, and international schedule that closes that gap.
Why a regional training center?
USA Wrestling established RTCs to strengthen the United States in international wrestling. They give athletes somewhere to keep training and competing once the collegiate season ends, and give coaches another way to develop their programs within NCAA rules.

What does a regional training center do?
USA Wrestling, the sport's national governing body, established RTCs to strengthen the United States in international wrestling. Freestyle, rather than collegiate style, is the style contested at the Olympics and World Championships, and the RTC program was designed to bridge that gap. RTCs also give college coaches additional ways to develop their programs within NCAA rules.
How does the club make athletes better?
Outside the collegiate season there is a full calendar of opportunity, from age-level world team qualifying events to camps at the Olympic Training Center. We fund and support access to that calendar, plus elite training partners, coaching, nutrition, and recovery.
Who can train here?
We serve three groups: high school wrestlers in our region, Virginia Tech collegiate athletes, and senior-level international competitors. High school athletes should reach out through our contact page for eligibility details.
